Nashville Jewish Film Festival

Berlin-born filmmaker Aviva Kempner chronicles her mother Hanka and uncle Dudek Ciesla’s lives before and during World War II. From their idyllic Jewish upbringing in Poland to their tearful reunion after surviving the Holocaust, this moving documentary ends by sharing the incredible lives they built in America as painter Helen Ciesla Covensky and businessperson and philanthropist David Chase.

A Pocketful of Miracles” will be opening the 23rd annual Nashville Jewish Film Festival on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the historic Belcourt Theater at 7 pm. It will be preceeded by a gala Opening Night dinner with special guest Aviva Kempner who will introduce the fim and remain for an audience post show discussion of the film.
